There are several ways to obtain the Golden Visa in Dubai and the UAE.

Source: UAE Cabinet Resolution No. 56 of 2018

The Golden Visa is a long-term residence visa launched by the UAE government in 2019.

As a reminder, investor or employee visas have durations of 2 years, renewable (previously the duration was 3 years in some cases).

Originally, the Golden Visa was granted to specific categories of residents who were considered to have made an exceptional contribution to the country. Today, the authorities have relaxed the criteria, and the scope of eligibility has significantly expanded.

The main advantages of the Golden Visa

The Golden Visa offers several advantages:

– It provides the opportunity to obtain a residence visa for a duration ranging from 2 to 10 years.

– It allows staying outside the country for more than 6 months without the residence visa being cancelled.

– It does not require renewal every 2 years.

– It allows becoming your own sponsor (your residence will no longer depend on a sponsor, such as an employer, for example).

– It enables living, working, or studying in the Emirates.

– It permits hiring as many domestic workers as desired.

– In the event of the Golden Visa holder’s death, their family can benefit from the Golden Visa until its expiration (no risk of visa cancellation after the holder’s death).

– It grants access to the ESAAD card issued by Dubai Police, which was previously reserved only for Emiratis (providing discounts at restaurants, hotels, shops, etc.).
