There are a large number of free zones in Dubai: about 20 in total at the moment, but this number will undoubtedly increase in the years to come.
The very first one exists since 1985. It is Jebel Ali, a free zone launched to attract foreign investments and which is still as attractive as ever almost 30 years later. Other popular centers for foreign investors include the Dubai Auto Zone, Healthcare City, International Financial Centre, Media City, Gold and Diamond Park, Silicon Oasis and World Central Business Park.
